The tradition of weaving flatwoven rugs in India spans back more than four centuries. Utilizing production methods used during the Moghul Dynasty, such as 100% vegetable dyes and small batch hand dying, the Discovery Flatweaves program pays homage to the best antique carpets created in India and Persia,
while also integrating a festive palette of up-to-the-minute colors. Fully reversible, this line uses an ultra-fine kilim weave that allows the weavers to render more rare and detailed designs than are typically possible in a flat woven construction. Most designs are available in a full range of
programmed sizes, and while each pattern can be re-ordered, the handcrafted nature of the production ensures that no two pieces will
ever be alike.
